Kids Who Resist Mental Training

Parents, young athletes come up with a lot of reasons for resisting mental training. They’ll tell you that their coaches and peers will think they’re weak if they embrace mental training. They’ll tell you they’re already tough. Your athletes will say their coaches don’t think mental training is important.

Kids insist they’re doing so well they don’t want to mess up their momentum. But many of these excuses are based on false myths about sport psychology! The truth is this: If they ARE willing to improve their mental game, they’ll see their performance improve as well as their success and happiness in sports.
