Entering the Zone

February 26, 2011 By Patrick Cohn

Entering the zone may sound Zen-like and magical, but in reality it is very simple. When you become immersed in achieving a goal, such as quick turns, attention is absorbed into the present – the here and now only. You think only about how to execute a turn with precision. Distractions are forbidden from entering your conscious mind.

You can capture this state of immersion to enhance your performance and maximize your athletic potential! One way to do this is to think back to when you were performing in the zone and what you thought about. What did it feel like for you? Can you imagine yourself in your next competition with the same level of confidence and focus?

Check out The Focused Athlete program for more strategies to focus your best in competition.
