Result-oriented Thinking

Athletes today focus too much on results, rankings and position on the team. Doing so makes it hard to reach their potential, let alone feel satisfied with their game. Result-oriented thinking leads to: fear of failure, fear of success, performance anxiety, and tension.

How can you possibly get away from this result-oriented thinking? You must have a lot of discipline and self-control. Most importantly, it means not caring about missing a shot and willingness to play hard regardless of the outcome. Focus on the process, not the end result. Stick to a plan, play one point at a time, and think process.
