Tips to Find a State of Flow

Flow is similar to a zone state in that you become totally absorbed into what you are doing in the present moment. Time feels altered. Athletes describe flow as a heightened sense of awareness when they compete, the ability to merge with their surroundings, and a lack of self-consciousness.

Research suggests that a flow state can be achieved when you have clear goals and get immediate feedback about how you are doing. The structure of sport provides for these prerequisites. Flow also occurs when you are fully immersed into a task and have full trust in your ability and the skills you learned from practice.
